Scope
This standard covers magnesium tooling plate of one grade and quality
offered for sale for use in jigs, fixtures, gauges and other applications.
Composition
Magnesium tooling plate is made to AZ31B composition shown in Table 5.
Tooling plate can be supplied to MIL-T-38749 on inquiry.
Properties
Typical mechanical properties os AZ31B tooling plate are shown below in
Table 1. Minimum properties are not guaranteed.

surface of the plate.
Finish: The side suitable for tooling uses is stencilled. The opposite
side is equal or superior to a mill finish.
Packing: Conforms to requirements of carrier through which shipment is
made. Both domestic and export packing available. |
